Changes…That’s Just The Way It Is + Other Miscellaneous Things

““But the thing is this: after awhile you just want to be with the one that makes you laugh. Know what I mean?” – Mr. Big

It’s already August…it’s been a great summer but very different from all the others I’ve had in high school. I feel like everyone is finding new friends, new hobbies, new comforts- and though it’d seem unsettling, it’s nice to see things fall into their natural places.

It’s pretty cool how friendship plays such a spontaneous, intricate, and key role during your years at college. In high school I thought I found a set of friends that were written in stone- friends with whom I’d maintain the same level of friendship with for the coming year despite going to different colleges. In the past ten months, I’ve learned two pretty important things: first, I’m terrible at maintaining relationships, and second, there are people out there that you’re practically created to be best friends with but it takes a while for you to find them.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve definitely kept a majority of my friendships from high school, mainly because our friendship doesn’t need a whole lot of grooming in order to survive. but I’ve found that for my personality and for the things that I enjoy, this past year I have found three or four friendships that were completely refreshing and fun instead of monotonous and convenient. It’s been fun.

On a less serious note, but maybe a little serious, Jon & Kate Plus 8 is back on tonight…the Divorced Chapter. This should be interesting. And sad. I would be lying if I said I wanted the show to stop, because despite Jon & Kate’s marital roadblock, I still want to watch those 8 kids on my TV.
I hope it’s a good episode…especially because they’ve been on a pretty long hiatus these past couple months. P.S. Jon Gosselin looks like a poster-child/man for douchey bachelors. Totally scheming…what is going on.
But then again…Kate is a psycho. Poor kids.

So from my desk at work, I can see the TV in the Physical Therapy gym at the Orthopedic practice that I work at, and today I was watching some ESPN while checking patients out and watching the Eagles on TV got me SO pumped for football season…! Cannot wait to see how the draft picks might be utilized on the team, and see what McNabb has in store for this season…last season it looked like he was slowly coming out of him slump. Maybe ‘09 is the year he will go back to ‘05 status. Maybe.
On a slightly sadder note, I can’t believe our dear Jim Johnson is gone…hopefully our defense can pull it together anyway. I will miss some of that Jim Johnson defense…

So my family is going to take a roadtrip in a couple weeks- Smoky Mountains, ATL, New Orleans, San Antonio, then Austin to drop David off at school. I’m pretty excited to take this family trip; I created our itinerary too, so if this trip fails…I have no one to blame but myself…better turn out great.

Okay, Jon & Kate is on now…gotta go, see ya
